## Good morning, Pike County Here is your daily briefing for today. ### Government The Board of Supervisors approved an $87,000 paving contract for District 3 roads, awarded to Delta Asphalt LLC in a 4-1 vote. Supervisor Williams was the lone dissent. This brings Delta Asphalt's total county contracts this year to $340,000. A budget amendment for $45,000 in courthouse roof repairs was also unanimously approved. Board President Monroe proposed a new 12-acre county park on Old Summit Road. A public hearing is scheduled for March 3. ### Public Safety McComb PD responded to a domestic disturbance on the 400 block of Delaware Ave and investigated a burglary at a convenience store on the same street. A DUI arrest was made on Highway 51 near Veterans Boulevard. A two-vehicle accident on Highway 98 near Summit caused minor injuries and traffic delays. ### Property & Business A home at 215 Main St sold for $145,000 — 48% above its assessed value — with Magnolia Properties LLC as the buyer. A smaller sale at 410 Cherry St went for $89,000 to first-time buyers. ### Community Southwest MS Community College reports enrollment up 12% this semester.
